The Prince George Brain Injured Group Society is a non-profit society, incorporated in 1987. Ours is the largest and most comprehensive agency of our type in the province.
Membership in the society is open to the general public and is available through the offices of the Society. Individuals do not need to be registered members of the society in order to recive services.
PG BIG is a member agency of the Prince George United Way and is an active member of the Prince George community.
We have an excellent reputation throughout the province. Staff and survivors have presented at many conferences on brain injury and we are very active in the newly formed Northern Brain Injury Community Society, a society whose primary objective is the development of services for survivors of brain injury throughout thee northern half of the provice.
We are a preferred practicum placemet for the Social Work degree programme at UNBC and for three diploma programmes at the College of New Caledonia, including the Long Term Care, the Socail Service Worker and the Practical Nursing programmes.

It is the mandate of the Prince George Brain Injured Group Society to do all which is within its power to enhance the lives of survivors of brain injury & their families and to make the community a better, more accepting place in which all citizens can participate. Within our mandate also rests the responsibility to engage in activities, which have as their aim a reduction in the incidence of brain injury
Our mission is to improve the lives of survivors of brain injury and their families through public education and the provision of local services and supports, and to reduce the incidence of Acquired Brain Injury through public education and awareness

We serve adults whose lives have been changed as a result of an aquired brain injury or "ABI." ABI includes injuries resulting from a "blow to the head", such as those aquired in a motor vehicle crash, a sporting accident, an assult, etc., as well as injury aquired through a stroke, aneurism, brain tumor, or infection (ex: encephalitis).
We accept self-referral as well as referral by the Northern Health Authority, physicians, the justice system, ICBC, WCB, or other such service agency. Potential clients are assessed for eligibility for services throuch PG BIG
Individuals are eligible for service through PG BIG if the following criteria are met:
